Inspection/Testing
As many manufacturers
have experienced, a high percentage of goods returned from customers
are merely for minor cosmetic or technical problems, such as wrong
color, lost of antenna, small scratch, missing of accessories,
minor defective parts, etc.
It has become
quite cost ineffective for manufacturers to go out of their core
competence to identify the return reasons and find ways to recuperate
the maximum value of the products.
SSI's service
will resolve these problems.
Upon receipt
of the returned products, SSI's staff will:
- Inspect
whether the items have the following problems:

Discoloration
- Scratch
- Missing
parts, accessories, and/or manuals
- Wrongly
returned parts or accessories
- Test
the primary functionality of the items and determine the best
asset management method as described below:
Clean,
parts replacement, re-accessorize,
retouch, and repack, or
- Parts
retrieval, or
- Repair
or Refurbish, or
- Recycle
- Record
the findings and assessment in the database
- Forward
the items to SSI's respective departments for next step processing
